The latest picture of our beloved bridge.

Picture taken on May 5, 2008 at 6AM.  It has now been three years since the highway district swore they were going to destroy the bridge to keep it from falling into the river.  I'll bet it out lives most of the board members who made that decision.  ...Thanks Jeffery

Location

Below is a map giving the exact location of the bridge in South Central Idaho.  To get to the bridge, exit Interstate 84 at Exit 216 (Declo/Rupert) and go North on Highway 25 for 3 1/2 miles.  At the stop sign turn right and go East 2 miles to 400 East.  Go North on 400 East two miles and turn right.  Follow 200 North along the Snake River West Bank until you see the bridge.  You can not miss it.

This page is currently under construction  and will change as I ad old content about the bridge that was discussed during the extensive unsuccessful campaign to try and secure her restoration.  She is condemned to removal when and if the Minidoka County Highway District can justify spending the 3 to 4 millions dollars of county taxpayer's money, not something the taxpayer's of the county are eager to do as you can imagine.  I am one of those taxpayer's and the bridge should remain and be restored to a usable walking and biking bridge.
